Got Questions?
May 14th, 2010
0If you’ve come to our site for the first time today, you’re probably wondering what do we do? We’re currently focusing on Glass, an add-on for Firefox that allows you to share your thoughts with your friends, and have conversations, on top of any website. All of those conversations are socially-directed, meaning that they are only seen by the people you want to share with.
“How does this work?” you might ask yourself. When you install the Glass app, it creates a virtual sheet of Glass across the entire internet. Essentially, it builds a platform upon which you can currently place messages, and in the future you’ll be able to place photos, videos and even other applications. The ability to share your experiences on top of any website has boundless possibilities, especially when considering that Glass functions in real-time. You can use Glass for anything from instantaneous chat to private research, all fully integrated with your current web experience.
Is this too good to be true? No, it’s not. We believe that tech companies should be focusing on making your current web experience more human, and less robotic. The only catch is that we’re currently in private beta, but there are invite codes available! To track some down, keep up with the latest happenings at our Glass Blog and follow our community manager Jenn on Twitter (@writeonglass).
We have a major update for Glass coming in the next few weeks, so be sure to keep your eyes and ears open for some super secret invite codes!
To answer your final question, no. In the video above, I am not the one wearing the gorilla costume. Thanks for asking though.
